Rules Questions

So this is just to verify that I have the math right for how to calculate the loot for the party, as this is the first time that I will have to do it.

As I understand it, when you sell items you get half price unless they are magic then you get 80%.

Here is an example: Masterwork Crossbow
2035 gp total, as the masterwork makes it a +1 bonus i believe

Another example: +1 holy cold iron long sword
18,020 gp, total enhancement +3, didn't include cold iron, i have no idea if that effects the price or not.

Anyways, I have no idea if this is right or not, which is why i want it to be checked before i calculate everything. Definitely, wouldn't want to short change our party!

Ok, I don't see anywhere in PFRPG it says magic items sell at 80%. That could be new.

Taking your above example, a Masterwork Crossbow is not 2035. It's either 335 or 350 (light vs heavy). A Masterwork Crossbow has a +1 bonus to-hit, not to damage, and is not considered magical.

A +1 Light Crossbow would cost 2335 (2000 for +1, 300 for masterwork, and 35 for the crossbow). It would get a +1 to hit and a +1 to damage, and is considered magic.

You can sell a Masterwork Light Crossbow for about 167 gp (assuming no haggling). A +1 Light Crossbow goes for about 1167 gp.

A +1 HOly Cold Iron Long Sword costs :

Long Sword : 15gp
Masterwork : 300gp
+3 Enchantment : 18,000
Cold Iron : 2,000
TOtal Price : 20,315gp
It would sell for about 10,157gp

Actually, I think it is a house rule, not sure if it is official or not. But it is what we have been doing for a while now.

OK, i was thinking that a masterwork item was magical since a magical item is also a masterwork item.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, now i understand how to do it. You guys are awesome.

Ah, that explains it. :)

Nope, you got it now. Masterwork is a prerequisite for magical. Not the other way around. :)

And... *blush*
