'Assumed' Magic Item Locations?

Pathfinder Society

So, first, a TL;DR: In Pathfinder Society, if you purchase an item specified on a chronicle sheet that does not specify, even if it would seem like it should, does a magic item have a location?

And now the longer version...

I don't want to give specifics because I don't want to spoil the adventure in question. However, I have a magic item on a chronicle sheet that I want to buy. It's not one of the ones with a whole magic item entry, but one that just specifies the name of the item, the price, and the effect. Something like this:

Helmet of Wearing (1,000 gp; +1 bonus on AC when headbanging)

[Yes, that was intended to be ridiculous-sounding.]

Now, obviously, a helmet would probably go in the head slot, but this does not specify it. So, in PFS, if a named item does not specify a slot, is it just considered slotless?

You can use the spoiler tag to give information on the item and from which scenario/AP/Module that it is from without spoiling things.

[*spoiler=Movie plot spoiler]This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit.[*/spoiler]

Just remove the *

That will help us give you accurate information.

Descriptions of magic items on chronicles are often terse, expecting people to understand even things not spelled out in detail. Most of us are reasonable grown-ups :)

If you encounter an item that should obviously go into a certain slot (because all other items of that type go into that slot, like all helmets being head slot) then it's best to assume this one does too.

I would only assume such an item was intentionally slotless if it had a "Slot: None" line somewhere in its description.

Or if it's something you don't normally wear, or if all similar items are also slotless. For example, if I ran into a magical bag, I'd assume it was slotless because bags of holding, handy haversacks and pathfinder pouches are also slotless.

Some items are less than obvious about the slot. I have seen a body slot corset from one source and a chest slot corset from a different source, which could theoretically lead to a character wearing two corsets at the same time.
