I am the GM for a home game of Reign of Winter (campaign mode). We recently finished book 1, and I am about to hand out chronicle sheets for the sanctioned content in the first book of the AP for players to apply to PFS characters (and one for me to apply as GM credit).
My question is about how the "Mantle of the Black Rider" boon works when applied to a PFS character played outside of the AP.
When is the PFS character considered to be "continuing its quest to find Baba Yaga"? Because we're in campaign mode, the PFS character with the boon will be playing exclusively in scenarios outside of the AP. Do we just treat it as though it is on the quest until the AP is finished and the final book 6 chronicle sheet gets applied? Is the boon useless, since the PFS character is not actually looking for Baba Yaga at all? Is there any way I can use this boon to get an extra +1 to dexterity for my halfling mouser swashbuckler for 1 minute/day????
I mean, what should I tell my players?

IC renouncing the path would do it (as in some ways it is the fluff part of the boon) - anything else is levelling your way to the quest. It does not even say you need to drop the boon if you miss a ROW sheet.
Thanks, that sounds good to me!
