I would like to a revamped Shaman, based on spirits and spirit animals with a spell list different from the druid
This could be interesting. I would give it a Cleric base att and saves, druid armor restirctions, Simple + Druid weapons, and a spell list that combined Cleric, Druid, and a few Domains, the elemental, plant, and animal, for now.

Which, to me, seems like a really lousy trade.
Not if you have a 10 WIS.

I'm not saying there isn't a problem with the old monsters, there very likely is. But there is definetly a problem with some of the later and 3rd party 3.5 base classes just being outright more powerful than the originals.
yep that is what i am doing(well i am using good ideas from PF for a new d20 system of my own but thats another story heh, PF is OGL isnt it heh :P)

Ranger is a class that I thought should have Uncanny Dodge once the 3.5 revisions were made. It was unfortunate to see them with evasion but not uncanny dodge.
UD and IUD would've been much better on the non-casting ranger than the nearly useless abilities they were given in CW. The only thing that CW did was make it so that Rangers no longer needed a better wisdom modifier than 10.

A friend and I were planning on pretty much doing what Piazo is doing until we thought about how much work it'd be. Thanks again guys! :)

I forgot I had done some work on something like this.
Thats the kind of thing I would like to see. A class that uses spirits, totems and the like for a series of powers
Nice work

My thought is it's for folks who play rangers that dump wisdom. If you have an 11 wisdom it's a great deal... otherwise it's seriously lame.

Even if they did the ranger had a 10 INT he can grab a headband of wisdom and gain a fistload of spells and a bonus to Will saves which would be better than the 4 abilities you can in complete warrior.... the more I think of it the more I shake my head... dumb.
They should have granted alternate class abilities which are appropriately flavored rather than this which is weaksauce.

Yeah, I think it was put there for munchkin reasons. You don't take Ranger to gain spells, you take it to gain two weapon fighting and the skill points, sadly.

There are few concepts that need to be added to core. This would be my list and the names we know them by.
* Arcane dabbling Fighter (Hexblade)
* Spontaneous divine caster (Favored Soul)
* Focused sorcerer with all at will abilities (Warlock)
I listed them this way because the mechanic is more important than the flavor that WoC gave them.
You'll notice that I left out a very popular one: the so-called Gish (Duskblade). I don't like the fighter/magic user base class. You lose all of the customization of the Fighter class and all of the customization of the Wizard/Sorcerer class and end up with a generic (albeit powerful) channel my spells through my sword class. No taste. No flavor. Blah.
This is what multiclassing is for. If you want a class that is equal portions of two different classes, that's what you are supposed to do. I wish the Druid had a more unique spell list for this very reason.
Another one that I left out is the acrobatic fighting class (Swashbuckler). These are very easy to make with Fighter/Rogue or Fighter/Bard and are much more flavorful than the lame Swashbuckler class that 3.5 has.
Multi-classing really only had one problem in 3.5 that they never fixed and that was how cross-classed skills worked, or didn't work I should say. Pathfinder fixes this. You can build any skill up to max and if it is a class skill of any of your classes, you get a +3 bonus...one of my favorite changes actually.

Generally I agree, though I like the idea of a shaman as well who relies less on spells and more on spirit animals and totems to perform special abailities. I need to check out the Runeblade from Monte Cook that very well maybe the best gish.

I need some help with a ranger variant I want to play, but I would eventually like to include it in my own game world. So, Hunter-Killer Ranger Variant: Ranger looses Wild Empathy, Hunter's Bond and Spells but gains bonus feat at first level and additional Combat Style whenever combat style is gained. Is this to powerful or not powerful enough?

Pathfinder Warlock
Pact (Su). Each Pathfinder Warlock makes a pact with some kind of otherworldly entity. Depending on the kind entity the warlock is...
Hey Dan!
A few of us from an upcoming game are in a PBP that includes 3 Warlocks(it's a gestatlt game) and we're using your version.
Do you have anything more on the pacts?
