Starfinder Core Rulebook spine issues.

First of all, i love the book, and thank you to EVERYONE at Paizo for Starfinder and for enriching my life so much over the years (and by extension my family's).

It is truly appreciated!

Sadly, it appears my Starfinder Core Rulebook has some defective glue holding it in and started to separate almost immediately. Any help provided is greatly appreciated!

I sent a picture via email a short while ago for quality control, but i thought i'd let you know about it here too.

Dito here on my limited edtion, 4370383. Sent email with photo, left phone message. Nice book, but only the flyliefs are hoding it in as the glue was not holding to the binding out of the box, and the page glue itself is beginning to seperate.

Hey folks!

The problems with the Limited Edition binding are something that we're going to have to take a look at after our crew starts trickling back in from GenCon, so we can figure out how best to get it resolved.

I've checked in our inbox and I see all of the emails you mentioned. I've flagged them for review when our staff returns. I just wanted to check because it's a bit hard to tell from the picture - Captain Yesterday, is your book the Limited Edition or standard Core Rulebook?

Good news everyone!

So, I decided to venture forth onto Office Max where I found some Scotch Quick Drying acid free tacky glue (with a precision tip) and reglued it back to the strip before it got any worse. :-)

So for the low price of 4.99 + tax I was able to take care of it myself, you can't even tell. :-)

I do recommend if others try it to use something long and slender to really get in the middle (I did not) and let it set overnight as the longer it has to dry and bond the better.

It was a little disappointing to have to add on the extra cost, but I can always have the kids open a book binding stand to recoup the cost.

At any rate, it doesn't dampen my enthusiasm in the slightest, thanks for everything!

I'm glad GenCon was such a big success for you guys!

P.S. I'll probably email an after picture in the morning. :-)


So, the glue doesn't seem to be holding up that well.

I'm not sure how many times I can reglue it.

I hate to ask for a replacement, but it was a significant chunk of my income and I don't know how long it will hold up, so if you could replace it that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Guys,
I in Germany got my books (classic Core and Special Edition) yesterday and sadly I have the same problems. Both books bindings are off and I only opened the SE one time :(
Sent Mail to customers service, hope something can be done despite the fact, that I am sitting on the other side of the great sea.
Edit: to make it clear: I love the content of the book and would be happy like a small kid with a lollipop if it weren't for the off look and cracking sounds of my books!

Hello Clavicus,

Since you didn't buy the books from us your first step should be to see if the store you purchased them from will exchange them for you, as we have steps in place to replace damaged or defective goods through distribution. If they are unable or unwilling to exchange them please let us know.

I actually did get my books from you. I subscribed to the Starfinder-Line and ordered the SE on top of that. I too was surprised that the books already arrived in Germany yesterday. It's order 4375190

So, it turns out the replacement is in a bit worse shape as not only was the glue not attached, but one of the back signatures wasn't fully attached to the others.

Also it turns out when i sent the email yesterday with the pictures, i forgot to reference the order the replacement was part of.

Oopsy doodle!

It was Order 4460972, and if you'd rather wait until the new printing arrives, i totally understand.

Ahoy hoy,

I was hoping you could actually wait to ship a new one until you get a new shipment. At this point i'm not convinced ANY of the first printing will hold up.

And there's only so much crinkling and looking at the spine every time i open it i can handle.
