Chaos Domain summon monster IX

Rules Questions

So I was looking at the Chaos Domain recently and I noticed that the 9th level domain spell granted was Summon Monster IX.

Now usually this would be clean cut and straight forward, but the domain also specifies that the Summon Monster spell must be "chaos only" even though there are no CN creatures in the base Summon Monster IX choices.

How then should I proceed to use this domain correctly?

There is the entropic creature template, which can be applied to a cloud giant or young storm giant. Both giants are choices from Serpent's Skull, book 2.

Alternatively, you can apply the same template to 1d3 creatures from Summon Monster VIII or 1d4+1 from VII.

Would a CG or CE summons be valid? If you read it as only chaotic choices instead of choices which are only chaotic.

That's exactly the question I was wondering, I don't know if I can summon ONLY chaotic creatures or if I can summon any creature AS LONG AS it's chaotic :/

Yes, CG and CE are fine.

The spell must have the [chaos] descriptor to use it as your domain spell. A summon monster spell gets the alignment descriptor(s) corresponding to the summoned monster's alignment subtype(s).

TL;DR: Enjoy your azata.
