Invisibility and tumor familiar

If the alchemist drinks an invisibility potion and then detaches his tumor familiar, does the tumor stay invisible?

I'd say no, same as if you had dropped a weapon or other item, it becomes visible as it leaves your grasp\ownership\etc.
