Do I understand panache right?

I want to make sure I understand how panache works.

1)A level 3 swashbuckler with a charisma mod of 3 starts each day with 3 panache points.
2)She uses the Derring-Do deed on a climb check. That uses up one panache point.
3)She gets a critical hit using a rapier. That restores one panache point.
4)The Swashbuckler Initiative deed does not use up a panache point, but is always on as long as she has points remaining.

That's how it works, right?

3) Close, it has to be a confirmed critical, not just a critical threat.
4) Yes, as long as you have 1 point remaining.
