Perception and height

Rules Questions

Someone have the rule if someone is in a watchtower, and the new malus to the distance? Normally, the malus is -1/10ft. If you're 30ft or more in height, normally, you see more far away. Did the game have rules for that ?

Thanks.

the rule for the distance is more for combat, because just being a little to far make you completely look like a deaf or blind person IRL, so i would house rule that since being higher height is an advantage to see farther away

You use the same calculation for movement, turned on its side.
Being up 30' means 5 diagonals, or an extra 10' of distance to add to the horizontal. That gives you a -1 Perception for height. The trade off is line of sight. That goes out much farther.

I also think the DC is to identify something, not to see that *something* is there.
DC for the sun is like -300000000000000. No one can see it. :-)
