Require Ultimate Combat to play a Gunslinger?

I recently realized that all of the firearm weapons seem to be from the Ultimate Combat book. Does this mean that you must have Ultimate Combat in order to play a Gunslinger that uses a firearm?

Yes

Gunslinger itself is from Ultimate Combat. So you need it to play a Gunslinger anyways.

I guess I never realized this since I wasn't even looking at the core class, but at an archetype for the most part.

Yes, unless you are running the pregrenated character of the Gunslinger. You only need the pregen, to play that.

And Ultimate Combat is a really cool book, one worth owning.

Yeah I ended up purchasing Ultimate Combat and Advanced Player's Guide to complement my Advanced Race and Advanced Class Guides. I feel like I'll be very broke soon.
