Newbie GM (PFS-specific) Questions

Hi all:

I'm GMing at Origins, and don't have much GMing or PFS GMing experience. I'm running Silent Tide, The Confirmation, and Out of Anarchy. I have two pretty basic (I hope) questions.

I've run The Confirmation before, so I'm pretty comfortable with that. However, I don't understand how GM credit works - if it's an evergreen, will I get credit for GMing it a 2nd time?

Both Silent Tide (scenario 0-01) and Out of Anarchy (6-22) have faction missions. Not all of the factions in Silent Tide still exist. I'm not totally sure what the current state of factions is in PFS - I don't remember getting any factions missions in the past year or two as a player. Do faction missions still exist? Adapt the Silent Tide faction missions to be for the faction they've morphed into?

I had a great experience at Origins with The Confirmation years ago (it was my 2nd PFS scenario, I think) and got into the lottery game of John Compton's Silent Tide session at Paizocon, so the bar is pretty high in my mind for those two. I'm really excited and nervous - it's like the first day of class, only summer! PFS Prep has been an amazingly useful tool in making sure I'm really understanding how to run these too - thanks to anyone who's contributed to that.

When applying chronicles for GM credit on evergreens, you can apply as many to a 1st level character as you wish. However, you can only apply a chronicle to a 2nd level character once. This is just like if you were a player.

For those adventures with faction missions, they have basically gone to the wayside. The faction missions can add favor but generally don't impact the overall adventure. You can hand them out to the players if you wish.

Make sure to lookup the secondary success conditions for Silent Tide. there is a a download in the GM area of PFS with a PDF for all the early adventures.

Just to note: You can GM The Confirmation over and over, and get chronicles for your PCs. But no PC can ever get more than one chronicle for the same adventure. So the second chronicle has to go to a different PC. This also means that you can't play and apply a GM chronicle to the same character from the same adventure.

Always check Secondary Success Conditions. Most missions do not use faction mission, but there are (or were last I looked) some that use them for secondary Prestige Points.

For the older scenarios you'll need a separate file from the Free Products page

For the Season 5 forward the secondary goal is listed in the scenario. Players don't know what that goal is most of the time. They need to listen to the mission briefing for hints. The right Knowledge check can also give hints about the secondary goal. There are a few out there that have the same conditions (if you finish the mission you just get both Prestige). Those seem to be the minority.
