Animal companion skill ranks

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

Hi,

Do I need to add an animal companion's Int bonus (or lack thereof) to the base skill ranks an animal has? Or is this already reflected in the animal companion table? Most animals have an Int score of 2, and therefore would not get any skill ranks for a few levels.

Thanks!

Animals get two skill points per level modified by intelligence, minimum one. So long as a creature has an intelligence score, it gets at least one skill point per level.

Thank you!

And yes, this is already in the table. You do not need to adjust anything for Int unless you get up to Int 10 and no longer have a negative modifier.

BTW, the ranks are gained not by the druid's level but by the animal's HD, as you will see if you compare the two columns on the table.
