I'd like to play in the ACG tournament qualifier this year. I was wondering if anyone knew, or could point me to, how points are gained?

Two, how many players do they set at a table? If your below that number are you just assigned to a group that needs teammates?

Thanks!

Unfortunately besides the number of players for each team being four, I really don't have much more information until the Saturday morning of PaizoCon as I will be one of the volunteers for the 2nd qualifier. Even then, I may not be able to reveal anything.

Sorry, I wish I could be more help on this one.

To give you some ideas as to what might be involved, last year's tournament scoring was based on things like completing the scenario, amount of time taken, and a mechanic separate from the game (like trivia questions or playing Password).

Thanks for the replies! The trivia question/password game really surprised me. I thought of one more question.

Can you play in multiple qualifiers?

I ran the other qualifier at PaizoCon and the final.

I would say no, you shouldn't be playing in multiple qualifiers; "qualifiers" in this sense are just one round of the tournament and aren't like qualifiers in some of the other senses of the word.

It's not meant to be a tournament like the WBC Puerto Rico tournament, for example where you're straight up playing the game and figuring out who the best/most practiced at it is. Knowing the game well does help a lot, but it's less about preparation and more about adaptability.

The Gen Con website description simply says, "Players should bring the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game Class Deck of their choice to the event."

I wonder if that means the tourney will be like last year, where you built a deck on the spot each round.
I'm somewhat surprised at the option to bring the deck of our choosing. Seems ripe for people to have deck and feat choices all picked out ahead of time - but maybe that's the idea?

Any and all vague answers from people who ran or played at PaizoCon appreciated. :)
This is the one event where I just don't know what to expect.
