Forced movement and grapples

Rules Questions

If you Force Punch a person grappling you and they fail the Fortitude save, what happens?

Do you get dragged along with them as they move back, maintaining the grapple? Do they get force-moved back, breaking the grapple?

I suppose this applies to any other type of forced movement on one of the parties as well.

This is a contentious issue, but I think general consensus (or maybe it's just the side I find most convincing) has been that if one party in a grapple is subject to forced movement the grappler gets a free grapple check to hold on so that they move together. Mainly because otherwise you can bull rush your own party member out of a grapple waaaay too easily, that sort of thing.

Sovereign Court

I'm not sure there's a true consensus, other than "the rules don't say clearly what happens, so it's up to the GM", followed by various ideas of reasonable ways to handle it.

I think if the Grappler doesn't have the reach or some special ability, he loses grip on his target.
