PFS Old Factions = No Boons?

Scarab Sages

I'd like clarification.
If you have a character in a current Faction, are you not allowed to get old faction boons from the early seasons?
Like Osirioni and Scarab Sages.
I've had GMs do it both ways so I wanted to know.

You definitely get the old boons.

scizarni and shadow lodge are out. All the others have an active faction that it corresponds to.

It is less clear in the Season 8 Roleplaying Guild Guide, but it does say that you treat new factions as old factions for faction missions 0-5. Season 5 did not have faction missions, but does have the faction boons.

It is more clearly stated in the Season 7 guide.
