Yep. I incorporated the Hive into Shattered Star part 3: The Asylum Stone.
No spoilers! I replaced another hive-like swarm creature with Hive swarms. The party encountered groups of Hive larva first and then a lone Hive warrior, set up much like its inspiration Ridley Scott's Alien.
The PCs killed the warrior and most of the Hive. The death throes really gave them trouble as they kept splatting Hive on top of each other resulting in acid baths. The cleric does his wall of stone trick to trap a group of Hive larva and the party continues into the Undercity.
Well, the larva kill one of their own and use the death throes acid to burn through the wall. They killed and infected the NPCs in the building and then spilled out into Kaer Maga.
The PCs finish their mission and return to find Kaer Maga in the midst of a Hive infestation. The players leave town as quickly as they can with the city plummeting into chaos behind them.
