Rules question for Spiritualist's Phantom's DR

I just want to make sure I am reading the rules correctly with this. With Full Manifestation in Ectoplasmic stat:

Damage Reduction: A phantom manifested in ectoplasmic form has DR 5/slashing. When the spiritualist reaches 5th level, the phantom gains DR 5/magic. At 10th level, the damage resistance increases to 10/magic. At 15th level, it increases to 15/magic, and at 20th level, the damage reduction becomes DR 15/—.

So, what I read from this carefully, and because I have seen rules lawyers for less in TCG's, is that the Phantom, while in this state, always has DR 5/Slashing, and will have with it later, and increasing DR X/Magic resistance as well, until it pops into a DR 15/- at level 20.

So, for its entire existence, non-slashing weapons, magical or not, will do 5 less damage, and then it has a second DR /magic that slowly increases, until it gains DR 15/-. Following the rules in the PHB, if there are 2 or more DR's a creature has, you apply the one that would reduce more.

Is this correct?

Yes on all counts.

This was how I interpreted the text too, but then I noticed in the Villain Codex on page 208, the Secret Society's Grand Dam (Spiritualist 13) has a phantom with DR 10/magic and slashing.

I've heard the NPC Codex is riddled with rules errors along those lines. Is the Villain Codex known to be in good shape rules-wise?
