where to buy Tattoo (Inscribed Magical)

Rules Questions

Does anybody sell service of Inscribe Magical Tattoo?

My character wants to pay some NPC to get tatto of Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists.
I don't want to spent one feat to get only one tattoo.

I would say magical tattoo shops do exist. They are likely less common then traditional magic item shops but you should be able to find one in a big city. If you are in a game where the GM is tracking availability of magic items it would be up to them to determine availability.

One thing to note is that you would have to pay full price and sit through the craft time which could be disadvantageous when compared to just buying the regular item.

That's not clear. Given how little information there is about the actual process of making magical tattoos, it's not clear how much of the magic is in the ink, how much is in the design, and how much is in the execution.

It would be completely plausible that a tattoo taking five days to "create" would actually take three days of hard work running horoscopes and whatnot to make an individualized magical design, a day and a half of work compounding a special ink containing unobtainium and dragon's feathers, stirred widdershins in a copper cauldron with a needle of a dire porcupine, and then only an hour or so to actually inscribe the tattoo.

"Both you and the recipient of the tattoo (if the recipient is not yourself) must be present during the entire tattooing process."

I think that is clear intent as to how it should work.

I just saw this as well:
"New magical tattoos can be researched and designed using the guidelines for pricing new magic items. Magical tattoos are treated as slotless magical items for pricing purposes."

Slotless items cost twice as much as slotted items. So you would have to spend the crafting time, pay twice as much as the regular purchase price and still lose the item slot.

Edited in strike-though based on comment made by Orfamay Quest

"Magic tattoos must be placed on a part of the body normally able to hold a magic item slot, but they do not count against or interfere with magic items worn on those slots."

Good catch, I missed that.

Given that you can stack slotted items at 1.5x cost for additional items, I think that would be a better way to go overall.

Purpose is to also get full +5 enhancement Amulet of Mighty Fists which overcomes even align-based damage reduction.

Tattos have some decent advantages, cost not being on of them. It's hard to sunder or steal or disarm a tattoo.

As for where to buy them? Varisia. That's where they come from. If imagine the shackles too.

A +5 tattoo of mighty fists would cost 200,000 GP. If you want to have an Amulet of Natural Armor +5 as well in that slot there would be a total cost of 250,000 GP.

Using item stacking, the Amulet of Mighty Fists +5 would cost 100,000 GP, and the Amulet of Natural Armor +5 would cost 75,000GP for a total of 175,000GP, saving 75,000GP.

If you have a GM that is trying to sunder or steal your magic items, they would likely try to Erase or destroy the tattoo.

Can I also stack Agile?

Like +5 Amulet of Mighty Fists (100,000 GP), +5 Amulet of Natural Armor (75,000 GP) and Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists (6,000 GP)?

That's not what the OP wants, if you check the other thread (or the first post). The OP wants a Agile Amulet of Mighty Fists +5. Unfortunately, that would be a net +6 enhancement, which isn't legal for the AoMF.

He can, however, stack a +5 Amulet (100000 gp) with an Agile tattoo (8000 gp) and get the effect he wants.

Yes, but not the way you're trying it.

You can't wear three (or even two) amulets, and you can't wear an amulet and two tattoos. You can, however, wear an amulet and a tattoo.

So you could get a +5 AoMF, and an Agile tattoo with up to +4 more weapon enhancements.

Unfortunately, the AoNA is not a weapon enhancement. If the GM gave you permission, you could possibly enchant something as a custom item that incorporates both effects (the same way you could enchant a pair of boots to be both boots of speed and boots of elevenkind). You could also try to get the GM to allow you the use of an alternate slot (for example, a Headband of Natural Armor) or an alternate tattoo location. But all of this is very much in the "ask your GM" territory.

You can't stack 2 of the same item. I would rule that this extends to tattoos as well, but that would be up to GM.

I don't think that is intended to allow players to stack multiples of the same item even with a tattoo. Given the enhancement cap and pricing of the Amulet of Mighty Fists, I would be more likely to allow an Agile +5 AoMF for 144,000GP than to let a player stack agile for 8,000 GP.

An +1 agile Bodywrap of Mighty Strikes costing 12,000 GP could also be used, but that would only apply on up to 4 attacks depending on BAB.

Thanks for answers!
