Campaigns about Cyclops?

Advice

I'm thinking about making a campaign/one-shot story delving into the history of the cyclopean kingdoms/empires. Has this already been done before, or discussed in an existing campaign? If not, I'd like to discuss how to go about making the story for my own idea. I've never actually put together a custom campaign before, so knowing just about anything related to cyclops would be a great benefit. I mean, I already know the stats and things of cyclopes, but not about their culture, how they're presented in existing campaigns, etc. Any input about what already exists can/will probably help me out.

Book 4 of the Skull & Shackles adventure path takes place on an island that features the remains of a cyclops city (which are used as a kind of dungeon). There are still cylops in there, but they are very degenerated and only the ruins hint at the former glory of their empire. It becomes obvious they have been very capable seers back at their prime for example.

There are more information about cylcops in the fluff passages, including a kind of cyclops that is less degenerated.

Kingmker has some in Book 3, and hmm..i think book 3 of Reign of Winter has an Iobaria article which historically had a cyclops empire.

The city of Aelyosos in Distant Shores has a population of cyclopes living in harmony with humans and merfolk. It uses the mythic rules and they have some BIG problems, in the form of a leviathan.

It's more of an adventure site than a canned campaign, though. It's got some good hooks, but you would need to develop them further for a proper adventure.

If you haven't yet, check out the Inner Sea Monster Codex. There's info on their culture, as well as stat blocks for different iterations. I've found both the Codex books fantastic.

As has been mentioned both Varnhold Vanishing (Kigmaker) and Island of Empty eyes (Skull and Shackles) have cyclops related adventure locations. In fact the shackles is built on and around the wreckage of the Ghol-Gan cyclops Empire, that descended into evil. It would make a good location.

I would second Distant Shore. Despite it's flaw Aelyosos would be good jump point to help you. Inner Sea Monster Codex is also a great resource.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I think Aelyosos would be a good place to set the campaign, though I wish I could find more information about the place without having to buy Distant Shores. Money's tight, y'know? Seems like a pretty Greek-inspired place, though, so it's a good starting point.

Judging by the sound of it, though, there's not really been any campaigns that truly dive into the history and lore of the ancient cyclopes, so I think that I should be able to get away with this without people going, "Hey, that's just like this adventure path!"

I should probably do something with Skull and Shackles at some point, though. Island of Empty Eyes sounds like another good location, and perhaps can be another location in my game. Then again, it's probably too ambitious of me to plot out a game in the first place, but I've never gotten anywhere by listening to reason.

The Aelyosos article on Pathfinder wiki might help.

Yeah, I looked at that, and it only gives me so much to go on. It doesn't really go into a lot of detail on how the cyclopes are integrated into the city, other than they apparently do something with the temples. It's something, but I wanted to know just a little more.

The Lost Kingdoms campaign setting book has a section on Ghol-Gan, the ancient cyclops empire, if you're looking for some inspiration.
