About 5 years ago, I was a player in Serpent's Skull and my whole party took a dislike to Gelik. So much so, that we purposely sabotaged his faction and put him in a position to be killed (he did die). I mean, according to his background, he's supposed to run off when he gets wounded in a battle. He's also a shady guy by selling fake artifacts in Magnimar.
I am now running the AP for a new group and first thing they did was tie him up when I played him like an opportunist who's only motivation is finding the Nightvoice. Though, I do have one player who hates Aerys and her drunkenness.

He has the highest DCs to make friendly and pokes fun at the PCs. My characters didn't care for him at first.
After getting off the island I did have Gelik tell the PCs he knew someone that would buy all their loot. I had him take them to the Pathfinder lodge where the pathfinder accountants being lazy offered buy everything for 6,000 GP each. He would then be kind enough to sell them back anything they had sold at full price. They didn't like the Pathfinder Society deal.

My PC's are nearing the completion of 1000 fangs now and are PF faction members, they didn't hate Gelik but he certainly was the least liked of the PC's I played him pompus and soft complaining about even the slightest inconvenience on the Shiv.
He gain some respect when the party overplayed their hand against the cannibals and he showed up with some timely Inspired Courage to get them over the hump.
Once they arrived in Saventh Yhi he was captured by M'Dgog and returned to the group, ostensibly having lost his eye in a fight. The PC's never caught on until they finished that particular vault, which the PC's have sealed with several walls of stone and abjuration until they can figure out how to reverse the process.
