Gray Paladin Build

Advice

One of my players is wanting help to build a Gray Paladin for my campaign. I am struggling finding a build where I just don't feel it is underpowered. They are all 5th level and 25pt buy. She wants to be a two handed weapon style fighter.

Gray Paladin does not really play that much different from normal Paladin.

You can get more mileage out of the social skills since they are now class skills.

Underpowered is relative to what type of game you expect to be in. The class is more suited for social games (it is in Ultimate Intrigue afterall).

If you intend on being in a more combat heavy game you may find yourself underwhelmed (a lot of intrigue options are like this).

The best thing you can do for them is ignore the errata on Divine Protection and let the player buy back their Divine Grace with a feat.

Fudging Oath of Vengeance to work on it as well will make the class at least function for combat.

Both of these require one really nice DM. The other option is to simply allow paladin alignments to be "any good" (this is my house rule) and not be stingy on the whole lawful thing, considering mechanically they aren't really forced into lawful niches as much as they are into good niches.

For the character itself:

Human
STR 16 (+2 racial = 18)
DEX 14
CON 14
INT 10
WIS 8
CHA 15

Feats- Power Attack, [Furious Focus]/[Fast Learner]/[Fey Foundling]

If you care about combat and being able to hit more, Furious Focus gives you a lot of benefits over weapon focus in the long run on a paladin. If you care about wanting more skill points and still wanna invest your FCB on HP, Fast Learner can net you more skills (which you want more of considering it's part of the package of the class) and Fey Foundling is great for dem heals.

Steadfast Personality is another option considering the class loses Divine Grace.

I know this is late to the party, but I am making a GP (only bc I want to be NG) for PFS right now that will be able to raise dead at 4th (5th at latest) level.

Str 13, Cha 20, everything else 10.
Strength of Sun, Child of Kintargo, Noble Scion (War), Improved init

Gives her a +9/+10 init at 1st level.
Retraining Feats to Extra Healing and Greater Mercy to take Ultimate Mercy at 3rd level, then at 4th will get 10th use of LoH if she has a +2 Cha device, otherwise have to wait for 5th level feat to get Extra Healing again.

Still, a 4th or 5th level PFS character that can Raise Dead once a day FOR FREE. Yeh. Not OP, but comes in handy.

The loosened alignment requirement means you can multiclass barbarian as a neutral-good (if you'd rather dip barb than bloodrager).
