Oracle / Sorcerer Build. Caster level for using Arcane / Divine Scrolls?

I am thinking about making a hybrid character, Oracle/Sorcerer.

Honestly, I would probably take a single level in Oracle and the rest in Sorcerer. Part of the appeal is that want to be able to use divine wands without having to roll a UMD check. I think that I would prestige into Arcane Savant which would give me some great utility with scrolls, too. But I am not sure how using a scroll would work, exactly.

Example build: Oracle 1 / Sorcerer 4

Would my Caster Level be 5 or would it be 1/4 depending on divine/arcane, respectively?

With a divine 3rd level scroll (CL 5), would I be able to use it, no problem? Would I have to make a caster level check (due to my divine CL being 1) but no be required to make a UMD check? Could I make a straight up UMD check to activate the scroll (DC 20 + 5), even if I took the level in oracle to avoid making the CL check for a class that I have a low CL in?

Similarly, what about a 3rd level arcane scroll (CL 5)?

Perhaps, the answer to this question is the same if CL would stack in a wizard/sorcerer character.

Your caster level varies based on the class in question. So in this case, it would be 1/4. Your Oracle spells will have a caster level of 1 (possibly limiting their duration significantly), while your Sorcerer spells will have a caster level of 4.

if you are using divine scrolls, you must make the Caster Level check off of your Oracle level, 1. If using arcane scrolls, use your Sorcerer level instead.

(If playing PFS or in any home game that makes scrolls generalized without the arcane/divine/psychic split, you may choose which class to use, if the scroll's spell exists on both spell lists)

also bear in mind that your UMD at some point will be enough to use divine scrolls with just your sorc lvls anyway, not sure it's really worth losing a lvl of sorcerer just to be able to use divine scrolls. you will also struggle to use scrolls of high lvl divine spells anyway as the DC is 1+CL required to cast it, so while it'll always be possible, it'll get harder and harder to succeed and you'll get a good chance of a mishap at higher lvls. DC for casting scrolls from other classes is 20+CL with UMD, so probably better to get UMD as high as you can then use that

When I saw the title, I thought you wanted to go Mystic Theurge. I don't know if it's recommended, mind you: just that I'm surprised you're not looking down that road.

If you want divine scrolls on a Sorcerer, take the Razmiran Priest archetype. It should do everything you want to do, and more.
