Hello!
I'm building a Skald and wondering if I can choose Maestro of the Society trait. As I understand it, the version in the Faction Guide is legal and the version in the Shattered Stsr AP guide is not. The Faction Guide version seems to suggest I need to be a bard to take it, but the update in Shattered Star does not.
I've tried googling around and I can't seem to find an answer to this.

Just Bards.
The Defender of the Society Trait is the one I see most commonly confused, since so many classes "count as" Fighters.
Could you please clarify that statement? I think you are trying to say that people think of various classes and archetypes as fighters even though they are not, in fact, fighters and can't take the trait.

I think he's referencing that a lot of classes have a clause to the effect of "Treat your levels in this class as fighter levels for determining X or qualifying for Y feat" etc.
Yes, which is why I suspect Kevin asked, since that is a trait not a feat, thus only characters with fighter class levels can take it.
