Blood Arcanist + Psychic Bloodline's Undercasting Prodigy

Rules Questions

Undercasting Prodigy:
Starting at 9th level, whenever you gain a new level of spells, you automatically replace any psychic bloodline spells that can be undercast with the highest-level version you can cast in your list of spells known. For example, at 9th level, you would replace mind thrust I, id insinuation I, and ego whip I with mind thrust IV, id insinuation III, and ego whip II, respectively, as spells known.

So, given how an Arcanist casts... Is this a useless ability?

That ability is useless to anyone who has the Psychic bloodline but not that bloodline's bonus spells.

Silver Crusade

Well... Yes.

And even worse. As recently pointed out in this thread of mine, the arcana doesn't even work for non-sorcerers, it seems.

Really a sad thing, and probably (hopefully) not RAI.

But which non-sorcerers would even get the arcana for any sorcerer bloodline?

Blood Arcanist.

Silver Crusade

Or a multiclass sorcerer :)

Most Arcanas (in fact I can't think of any exceptions beyond Psychic) give benefits that affect all castings, Sorcerer or not. So any class dipping a level would.

Silver Crusade

Well... The esoteric dragon bloodline arcana allows you to do something when selecting spells known.

That should work for arcane prepared spellcasters: wizards, magi, arcanists, and witches (because they do add spells known to their repetoire when learning them), but it certainly won't work for divine prepared spellcasters: clerics, druids, shamans, rangers, and paladins.
