Help with some custom items for party. Based from Wraith of the Righteous.

Short story: This adventure path hands out some really nice gear to a paladin, we have a war priest, close enough for me with how he RPs.

I have a player that can't reach combat well. Party currently consists of
-Newly remade Tactician (PC Death earlier)
-Newly joined session Psion
-Monk
-Barbarian with Boots of Striding/Spring and Speedy Rage
-Dwarf Warpriest

The battle usually starts with the tactician opening with Entangling Debris, which locks down most of the mooks with a 40ft radius. Monk and Barbarian can do things with giant movespeed, Dwarf can not.

The party is about to enter the world wound and has decided against army battling, since it seems boring. This would be a great time for them to find some usable relics from past crusades that could help them.

I wanted to make some boots to help the Dwarf, as he has resorted to picking up Air Step to try and work in battle. I was thinking of giving him something that either let him ignore difficult terrain with a temporary bonus to movespeed like Boots of Expeditious Retreat or give him something to work better with Air Step that will give him +Fly skill and +Fly Movement speed.

I wanted some advice on different options and what would hit the level 6, soon to be 7 party member.

I don't understand you, I'm afraid. You said that the AP has nice gear for your warpriest, since he RPs like a paladin. And you said that he had dealt with his problem of reaching a melee, by picking up Air Step. Conversely, you also said that you wanted boots to help him, since he has such a hard time reaching a melee after the Tactician makes it impossible(!) for him. Is Air Step working? Is there a reason you aren't just handing out the AP's paladin loot?

He has used Air Step once so far, it was mainly to catch a fleeing enemy. War Priest either has to take a turn to set up Air Step or waste a Fervor point to cast it.

The loot for the paladin that he has retrieved is a suit of armor and a sword, nothing which helps him get to battle.

OK. Is everyone else getting equivalent wealth to equal a suit of armor, a sword, AND boots? How much money do you have available to spend?

Btw, is getting to a fight really a "waste" of a fervor point?

Everyone has about equal gold at the moment, with the Warpriest solidly in the middle.

The boots will be the next set of items they get, and I'm making sure they have equal gold. The party is roughly at 16k gold (this includes the armor and sword) and about to hit level 7, so they have 7.5k to get in items.

Winged Boots would make sense, but a little expensive. You could give him 'lesser' winged boots, with 1 or 2 activations per day instead of 3, with a commensurate price reduction.

There's a typo in the thread title. Wraith of the Righteous.

Anyways, Boots of Striding and Springing with the effects of Feather Step Slippers added on would come to 8500g as per the custom magic item creation rules, which is not much higher than the 7.5k you mentioned. At that level, an extra 1,000g in character wealth isn't that noticeable.

Bunch of potions of fly. Let him drink them before combat starts as long as there isn't an ambush.

Fortunately, Athaleon has a solid suggestion. The only other item I could find in Ultimate Equipment is Sandals of the Lightest Step, and I doubt the math works out. (10 feet in difficult terrain is one move action, and heading up & down also eats speed for the second on Air Walk.)

I do like the idea Athaleon suggested. I did not realize Feather Step Slippers existed. That works wonders.

Also for custom item rules, don't you have to craft the more expensive item at 150% cost, making this a 10250g item?

No, you craft the most expensive part at normal cost, and add on other abilities at 150% cost.
