I looked for this and seemingly nobody has had or thought of this to encounter this problem. im looking for an official ruling on the following scenario:
Lvl 1 human wizard takes the racial feat "Racial Heritage" and chooses "Half-Elf" or "Elf" whichever is legal for the purpose of gaining "paragon surge" later.
Now at level 5: gain a cursed item that changes my race to Grippli, which is an official potential consequence of a cursed item. Do I still qualify for Paragon Surge or Racial Heritage while being a Grippli?
No. You no longer count as human if you have been turned into a grippli. I assume that this is an actual subtype change and not simply a polymorph effect that makes you look like a grippli -- in the latter case, you would still count as a human and a half-elf but not as a grippli.
