Packmaster Hunter + Boon Companion Mechanics

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

Hey all, been scouring the rules section for answers to my own questions about the Boon Companion Feat. However, I have had a new question pop into my mind and thought I'd share to see what answers came back.

I am currently playing a Packmaster Hunter and am CL 2. I have two wolf companions each level 1. Now when I advance to a 3rd level hunter I was planning on taking Boon Companion with my first companion. What I'm seeing is obviously that companion would advance +4 CL = to my Hunter level I.e. it become a level 3 companion. Now here is where my question really starts. In taking Boon Companion my 1st AnC becomes level 3, but I did not do a standard level adjustment for leveling up my Hunter. Would I still be able to spend my companion level up on my 2nd AnC? Effectively giving my hunter a 3rd and 2nd level AnC.

I'm still splitting my AnC's Hunter levels 2-1 to a total of 3 (my hunter level) but the Booned Conpanion would essentially be level 3 in its own right. That would give my AnC's a combined level of 5 exceeding my Hunter level by 2. I'm curious if that would be the proper way of advancing my Companions or not?

A level 10 packmaster has 10 levels of AC to spread around.

Boon says "max EDL" of your character level.

Your character level is 10.

10 is the max.

Your Maximum EDL is character level already, so boon companion does nothing for packmaster.
