I'd like to try GMing a PFS scenario online but...

... I need a few clarifications first.

I've never GMed PFS before and I don't have many chances to play it live. So I'd like to try doing it online but I'd like to ask a few questions first:

-I already have a PFS Id card, do I need a GM code or do I use my player Id? If I need a GM code how do I get it?

-Event should be "PFS Online PbP" Right? What about event number? If the game is not played during an event like a gameday, who assigns this number?

-How do I report the chronicle cheets once the game is done?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me!

Probably the best way to learn is to try playing before GMing. That way, you can see how it's done.

To answer your specific questions, though:

1. Your PFS ID is the only number you need as both a player and GM.
2. On the "My Pathfinder Society" page, you can create an event. Call it whatever you want. An event number will be assigned to you automatically.
3. Chronicle sheets are shared electronically, either on something like Google Docs, or just via email.

To clarify:
You fill out the sheets electronically and send them to your players electronically (or you print them out, fill them out, scan them back in and THEN send an email).
You REPORT the the session in the event you created in Fromper's step 2.

Hey, thanks for stepping up

I would recommend playing online. Even if you're familiar with pathfinder pfs has a few peculiarities you should see in action before you really get them.

You're good. There's no test or anything to be a PFS DM. Just the number. The low qualification bar is how we got in...

You can name it what you want. I find individual sessions easier to track, but some people use something like " Valertis's online pfs" to get one big chunk of gaming, and assign all of your games to that.

the computer asigns the number. All hail our computer overlords.

I need to write this up as a guide

Upper left corner right click "pathfinder society" open up in new tab.

Click "my pathfinder society

Sign in, because it's a sensitive area

Click the GM/Even Coordinator" tab

Down at the bottom it says "Create event"

Be sure to

1) click the box that says event takes place online
2) the scenarios you're playing: left box for regular right box for core.
3) that you have at least 1 session in the box waaaaaay down at the bottom asking "number of sessions"

Click save changes

Click report

Select the scenario (this is why you had to tick the box in the previous step)

Be sure to give your character credit. If you're new, DMing your first character higher is usually a good call.

Click save and exit when you're done.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me!

If you plan to do PBP this lodge is a great start. Helpful GMs and a lot of players looking to get in on games.
