I know there are a lot of threads out there regarding this spell, butI can't seem to find the answers I am specifically looking for....I thought you all could help....
1) Can multiple "tentacles" attack one target? Or is the single attack a round representative of the "tentacles" attacking. Is there some rule, like one tentacle a square around the character?
2) If a grappled individual escapes the tentacles and begins to move through them, does that trigger an attack of opportunity?
Thanks!

You're over-thinking this. The spell does exactly what it says it does, nothing more.
1) No, creatures are attacked once per round at the start of the caster's turn (or when the spell is cast, or when they enter the area of effect). The only way a creature could be attacked twice in the same round is if they left the area of effect and re-entered.
2) No, the spell doesn't allow the tentacles to do this. The grapple effect only occurs when you enter the area of effect or when you're in the area of effect at the start of the spellcaster's turn.

This spell causes a field of rubbery black tentacles to appear, burrowing up from the floor and reaching for any creature in the area.Every creature within the area of the spell is the target of a combat maneuver check made to grapple each round at the beginning of your turn, including the round that black tentacles is cast. Creatures that enter the area of effect are also automatically attacked. The tentacles do not provoke attacks of opportunity. When determining the tentacles' CMB, the tentacles use your caster level as their base attack bonus and receive a +4 bonus due to their Strength and a +1 size bonus. Roll only once for the entire spell effect each round and apply the result to all creatures in the area of effect.
If the tentacles succeed in grappling a foe, that foe takes 1d6+4 points of damage and gains the grappled condition. Grappled opponents cannot move without first breaking the grapple. All other movement is prohibited unless the creature breaks the grapple first. The black tentacles spell receives a +5 bonus on grapple checks made against opponents it is already grappling, but cannot move foes or pin foes. Each round that black tentacles succeeds on a grapple check, it deals an additional 1d6+4 points of damage. The CMD of black tentacles, for the purposes of escaping the grapple, is equal to 10 + its CMB.
The tentacles created by this spell cannot be damaged, but they can be dispelled as normal. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the tentacles last.
1. Remember this is a spell, not a creature. Picture 25 tentacles per square (1 per square foot) not 1 tentacle per square. They do not "attack" they all just reach around and attempt to wrap up whatever they can (at the proper time, which is when summoned, and at the start of the caster's turn)
2. Again you have to remember this is a spell, not a creature. It does specific actions at specific times. If at the start of a characters turn they are either grappled or not, once that is determined then you have completely resolved the spells actions as they apply to that character until the start of the spell caster's next turn. So NO, the tentacles do not get grapple checks as a player moves through them. Only at the start of the caster's turn on anyone inside the effected area.
