Advice

I haven't played PF in almost 3 years now. My GM decided he wanted to switch back which is fine ) I loved PF before. We are playing wrath of the righteous I have decided to play a paladin. Alot has changed since I last played this will be my 1st mythic campaign. For my character I have a few things locked in. Demon spawn tiefling,1st feat fey fondling, 1st trait suicidal. I need another solid trait, and any ideas of things I should look into that might help from the last couple years. I can't decide on a fighting style either thf, twf, s&b. I have consider taking 1st level as fighter to help with feat economy.

Wrath of the Righteous goes to Level 20/Mythic 10.

It also provides a free feat around level 6 if you complete certian actions in game.

It also provides a Paladin with all the juiciness drops ever wanted.

As far as style of fighting that is up to you. Sword and Board would be good if you feel you can work up to it. By the end of book 3 you will be easily level 13 so you will gain levels fast. Sword and board need TWF, Improved Shield bash, Shield Slam, Shield Master, Bashing Finish, ITWF, Double Slice and two weapon rend. But it is more than possible to complete this build.

Simply put Power attack + Smite will be more than enough damage. Especially when you get Mythic Smite (First choice should be). Then you are smiting everything. So 2 handed weapon user can go very far by taking the necessities and just flavor filling everything else.

I've never played Wrath of the Righteous, so I don't know what goodies are available to you, but one thing you could do is two-hand a shield until you get the TWF stuff down.

Improved Shield Bash + a spiked heavy shield + power attack + using it with two hands = 1d6+1.5xSTR+1.5xPower Attack while maintaining your high AC. And if you're fighting something resistant to piercing but weak to bludgeoning, well... You can use the heavy shield instead of the spikes, dealing 1d4+1.5xSTR+1.5xPower Attack, still maintaining your high AC. It's fairly versatile, but the weapon's base damage isn't that great.

Still, you can go far with things like Shield Slam, Bashing Finish, etc. It works with two-handed weapon feats, and I'd take a glance at the Style feats to see if anything interests you. And, of course, you can always go from two-handing a shield to focusing on TWF as your build progresses.

(Heck, the Bulette Style line of feats could be VERY fun for you if you ever decided to take a 2 level dip into Fighter (Siegebreaker). But don't consider that necessary for the above idea.)

As for traits: extra initiative rarely hurts, so one of the +2 initiative traits isn't a bad call. Your saves should be good already thanks to Divine Grace... Maybe consider if there's a skill you want access to that you don't have already?

Also, you can replace Fiendish Sorcery with Prehensile Tail if you like. You can use the tail to grab potions as a swift action and things like that. It's not always going to help, but it's a nifty ability.

If your GM lets you, take the Fiendish Heritage feat and grab Over-sized Limbs (#16) so you can use Large weapons without penalty. You could be wielding a greatsword that deals 3d6 damage, for instance. It's useful if you want to carry a really big, scary weapon. This would replace your racial SLA.

I stopped by and rolled my stats today. Ended up with 16,15,15,15,13,12 so twf should be easy to pull off. Should I grab power attack or twf first?

I have decided to go twf track, but to get this online quicker I think I may multi class. I can't decide between 1 level of figter or 2 levels of ranger in suggetions. Also what are yalls take on the mercy feats mainly ultimate mercy and greater mercy are the worth it?

Ranger...Favored Enemy Evil outsider, Better saves, more skills, and the ability to bypass the Dex requirement for TWF. Only 2 downside is you will miss-out on your Capstone ability of the Paladin, and Ranger feats do not work in full plate. If that is no big deal then Ranger is the better dip.

Fighter gives you Feats but Ranger gives you a Favored Enemy that will be seen for the entire campaign and a majority of your enemies.

Remember if you complete enough things in the AP when you become Mythic you gain lots of bonuses. One of which is a free feat at Level 6.

Which ranger feats don't work in heavy armour?

The combat style ones

That would make a paladin ranger multi class kinda not worth it then I guess.

Personally, I wouldn't dip for more than 2 levels. Paladins get scarier and scarier as they level. Either 2 fighter levels or 2 ranger levels would be fine.

Basically: are skill points or an extra feat more valuable to you? If you like the flexibility of skill points, go ranger. If you'd prefer to get your build online ASAP, go Fighter.
