What to do in PFS if Characters newest updates are lost?

Scarab Sages

In recent months i've more and more been focusing my character updates on online character sheets thinking it was the better way, but I might have lost the majority of my character sheets like many others with the myth-weavers data loss.

Are the characters now unplayable, are they to be remade as close to what they were or to be remade?
I got most of my characters on physical sheets that simply haven't been updated in a while.

Flagged to be moved to PFS threads.

If you have no paper records, you should still have your Chronicles, ITS, and so on. Remake the PC as closely as you can to the original. Even if you're playing mostly online, paper records important.

As Lamplighter said, do the best you can to recreate your level advancements and purchases. Hopefully in most cases you'll only be off by a few consumeables.

I am just posting in here as your Venture Lieutenant to say, yes, please, just remake your characters the best you can and as closely as you can remember.

I will note that having an offline ITS is a good idea to keep track of expendables. I will also note that I have been particularly bad about keeping my ITS up to date for my online characters... Sigh.

I did a self-audit on all of my characters recently and caught tons of small errors that I had to fix. Now all of my characters have up-to-date information in paper backup thanks in no small part to the nagging and hard work of my partner, Bret.

For those of you who may have been out of the loop, our Myth-Weavers community suffered a data loss today. Updates to character sheets dating back to July of 2016 may have been lost.

Hmm

"close enough for state work..."

I know this doesn't help you, but I'm just going to outline the process I go through in case anyone gets any ideas about their character organization for it.

First I have a giant binder that I store all of my chronicle sheets in. Any specific notes or print outs I need for a given character is with the chronicle sheets for that character. Each character is separated by tabs.

At the front of each section is a page protector and in it I keep a printed off copy of the character's current level, their ITS(s), and their faction card (also a sheet for any animal companion/familiar they might have). During gameplay I can mark on the page protector (with the character sheet inside it) any hp changes/state changes/buffs/etc.

I keep all of my characters on google drive with a new file for each level so I've always got a history of progress for the character.
