I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there is a plan to update the information in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide? Specifically, the Prestige Awards awards that one can get for belonging for a faction. For example, I know that while people who are in the Dark Archives faction can get the Prestige Awards from the Cheliax faction, some of of these seem thematically . . . problematic given that the Dark Archives aren't exactly connected to Cheliax.
Armiger (Fame 20, 2 PP) Though still a loyal Pathfinder, your service to Cheliax grants you admission into a Hellknight order of your choice with the rank of armiger. You gain a +3 bonus on Diplomacy checks made against Hellknights of any order or rank.
Hellknight (Fame 40, 2 PP, Armiger) Your continued loyalty to Cheliax and your Hellknight order earn you the honorary rank of Hellknight (or signifer if you are a spellcaster), granting you a +3 bonus on Intimidate checks when wearing heavy armor. This rank is granted independently of levels in the Hellknight prestige class.

We wouldn't know about such plans until they announce them. That and PFS leadership seems a bit stretched, so it's a fair assumption that there are none at present.
With the various factions downplayed, I think the faction-specific Prestige awards have been superseded by the new Faction card system. With all of the old factions retired, I don't think that the Field Guide ones are applicable any longer.

It's a great way to build a character with a connection to the Hell Knights, who appear in a number of different scenarios.
Given various events across the setting, it's not inconceivable that a Hellknight order might reconsider whether their ideals are still best served by allegiance to the House of Thrune, and might look to effective associates of past missions (that is, reporting of certain scenarios) for allies to help them depart safely from Cheliax.

Yeah, the Hellknights and House Thrune are politically independent. Not that it doesn't make life more confusing for members of the Dark Archive, but you can still play the Hellknight aspects up as "Zarta's got contacts and I ended up being Knighted in Korvosa" or something.
I personally still enjoy the book and would hate to see it deprecated. I would like to see an update, but since John already wrote the elemental planes campaign setting I'd be surprised if we saw anything this year. He still has his day job, after all... maybe next year or the year after would be more realistic?

On the other hand... The Field Guide options are a lovely way to build the background of your character. I hope they don't get retired. It's a great way to build a character with a connection to the Hell Knights, who appear in a number of different scenarios.

Oh yes, I still love the Field Guide and don't want to see it go away, and I love the fact that you can build the Hell Knights into your character, I was just wondering if there was any plans in the pipes to get any more updated prestige rewards, which I absolutely love. ^_^ It sounds like, sadly, there aren't. Maybe someday!

He's written more since that - at the very least, I believe you'll find his name in Paths of the Righteous and on Book 5 of Strange Aeons. I don't know where Mr. Compton finds the energy and time for writing, on top of everything else.
