2 Questions about the Gnome Prankster (Bard Archetype):
Punchline (Sp): At 6th level, the prankster can use his performance to tell a punchline to amuse a creature he has already mocked (see above), goading it into hideous laughter (as the spell). Using this ability does not disrupt the mock effect, but it does require a standard action to activate (in addition to the free action to continue the mock effect). A prankster can use this ability more than once against an individual creature during an individual performance.
Telling a punchline does not count against a prankster's daily use of bardic performance. A Will saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard's level + the bard's Charisma modifier) negates the effect. This ability affects only a single creature. Punchline is an enchantment (compulsion), mind affecting, language-dependent ability and relies on audible components.
My first question is about the duration of this effect.
Hideous Laughter is 1 round/level with a full round save each round against the effect. But SP abilities don't have your caster level.
I tried to search around, this must've come up before.
Even a single round of disable is pretty powerful, which seems the minimum.
The second question is about the final line of Hideous Laughter:
A creature with an Intelligence score of 2 or lower is not affected. A creature whose type is different from the caster's receives a +4 bonus on its saving throw, because humor doesn't "translate" well.
Would this apply to the Punchline effect too? There is the added caveat on Punchline that it's language dependent, so it's not quite like Hideous Laughter already.
