The cost of making a magic item is whatever it tells you it. It'll have a line at the bottom under "Construction".
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, true seeing; Cost 1,750 gpBolding mine. It is usually half the price, but some items are an exception. Manual of Bodily Health, for instance
Slot none; Price 27,500 gp (+1), 55,000 gp (+2), 82,500 gp (+3), 110,000 gp (+4), 137,500 gp (+5); Weight 5 lbs.
...
ConstructionRequirements Craft Wondrous Item, wish or miracle; Cost 26,250 gp (+1), 52,500 gp (+2), 78,750 gp (+3), 105,000 gp (+4), 131,250 gp (+5)
Has a cost that's almost the same as the price. So just look under the Construction heading and it should tell you. Is there a specific magic item you're making that doesn't?

For pre-made magic items in the books, their crafting cost is listed. Usually at the bottom, under Construction.
A magic item can be crafted for half price. So if it normally costs 2000 gp, you can graft it for 1000 gp.
Note, it is only usually half price. If one of the prerequisite spells has an expensive component, that component cost isn't halved. Look at the various stat-boosting tomes for example.

Thank you for clarifying

Thanks! So say materials cost around 50 gold would the price to make a cloak of resistance +1 be 550gp
No. The material cost is the 500gp.
If you're crafting it yourself, you have to pay 500gp total.
If you're paying someone else to craft it for you, they'll probably charge you the full 1000gp and keep 500gp as a profit margin for themselves.
