Thmei and the Forgotten Pharaoh (MM4)

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I haven't played the Mummy's Mask RPG so there might be an explanation I don't know. Thmei's picture shows her clothed in mummy wrap and the Forgotten Pharaoh is definitely showing skin, but the Forgotten Pharaoh has the Mummy trait and Thmei does not.

Thmei is a cultist (by trait) and her mask looks similar to that of the forgotten Pharaoh cultist. I'm guessing the bandages are more for show in her case.

It also looks like the loot you get by defeating Thmei is worn by the Forgotten Pharoah, plus the scenario is called "A Woman of Entwined Souls," so they might be the same person. I also wonder what that pearl-looking thing on the scenario picture is.

Yeah. I'm only guessing, because I haven't read the adventure path.

I don't own the MM set and our group has only been playing Plundered Tombs. Have the main Adventures/Scenarios told you much about what's going on? For example, did they say why you're going after the cultists? (Adventure 3's info might help here, if it has any.)

Otherwise...

Mummy's Mask RPG AP:
Thmei and the Forgotten Pharaoh are two different characters. They're both living people, but the Forgotten Pharaoh had a very bad day once upon a time. It almost makes you wish she played children's card games.

Lone Shark Games

Thmei is a human oracle devoted to the Forgotten Pharaoh. She fights the PCs surrounded by an antilife shell, hurling out storms of souls and blasts of poison. She is also a "Troth of the Forgotten Pharaoh" which means she has given her life to him. When she sacrifices herself for him, snakes of fire burst out from her to attack the Pharaoh's enemies.

So, I mean, still just a human, but not so human looking :)

Thanks! Each story card only fits a paragraph so there's a lot from the books that gets left out. Does the Forgotten Pharaoh possess whoever's wearing the mask or is the picture actually the Forgotten Pharaoh?

Lone Shark Games

Possessed is basically correct. She is influenced by the Pharaoh's "ib, the embodiment of his emotions, thoughts, will, and intent. "

Silver Crusade

Dealio with the Forgotten Pharaoh:

So, once upon a time, when Hakotep I, a rather nasty guy with an obsession with flying cities, died, a group of Nethys worshippers stole his heart and funeral mask, which split his soul into three parts, ib, ba, and ka. The ka is housed in the Mask, which gives it crazy undead raising powers. The ib was housed in his Heart, and his ba stayed with his body. The Nethys worshippers were hoping to find out the secrets of the flying cities from the information, but the pharaoh after Hakotep, Djederet II, found out about the theft and was horrified. Since he was also a Nethys worshipper, he covered up the whole thing and hid the heart in Sothis and the mask in Wati.

A woman named Serethet found the heart and was possessed by the ib, though she wasn't fully Hakotep. She then formed a cult of people who wear funerary masks and called herself the Forgotten Pharaoh. They're now searching for the other parts of his soul, hoping that if they're reunited, Hakotep will be brought back to life and can once again rule Osirion. (They're wrong; reuniting the portions of Hakotep's soul puts him to rest.)

The mask was found by a man named Nebta Khufre, who caused the undead uprising in AD2. The PCs killed him and found the mask and now wield its power. The ba is still in the flying pyramid.

Thank you very much, you all!
