There are lots of web videos of gaming groups in action. While I find these to be great inspirations for gameplay, each one is rather long, so it is hard to watch a large number.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a particular video with a good demonstration of a wizard being a "battlefield controller"? I don't feel like I am doing a good job at it and would appreciate some role-models to follow.

To be honest, I doubt you'd find a web video properly demonstrating that, because videos like that don't really care about the optimization part of the game. At best, it's done for the lols. At worst, it's just watching people playing the game obliviously to whatever power level it has. (I'd say they'd play the game blindly, but that'd require there to be an actual proper way to play it, which for this, doesn't really exist.)
I'd instead recommend looking up a God Wizard guide. As far as I know, Treantmonk made one with pure Core Rulebook stuff and tells you what you should be looking for.
From there, it's a simple matter of comparing and contrasting what other existing options there are from the other books to what is originally viewed as "good" options.
