Baba Yaga as an Eldest

Homebrew and House Rules

In First World, Realm of the Fey pg. 37, Baba Yaga is listed in a section on "Other Eldest."

Her write up in Reign of Winter part 6, The Witch Queen's Revenge, mentions she has long held the power to grant spells to followers but has chosen not to.

I am wondering, what do people think her domains, obedience, and boons would be if she were to accept worshippers?

NE eldest of witches, curses and greed

Domain: Artifice, Evil, Magic, Trickery
Subdomain: Alchemy, Arcane, Divine, Greed

Or maybe

Subdomain: Ice, Arcane, Divine, Greed (she grants the Ice subdomain, despite not granting the Water domain).

Now, for obedience and boons... I have no idea. You could use curses and witch like abilities for the boons, or even Ice based spells.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Ugh. Worshipers.

Hmmm....

Is getting a Witch Hex too much for the Boon 1?

Maybe Mage's Magnificent Mansion for Boon 2?

Not sure what the Obedience would be.

I agree that Evil, Magic, and Trickery sound good. For the 4th domain Artifice, Knowledge, or Travel all seem like they could fit. Hard to decide.

For sub-domains, I agree Arcane (or Rites) would be good. Greed fits. I don't think I would go with Divine though. And while she is the founder of Irrisen, I don't see Ice as being a major part of who she is.

I could see Alchemy or Portal, maybe Thought.

So I think I would go Evil, Magic, Travel, Trickery (Alchemy, Greed, Portal, Rites).

Ideas for obedience or boons still appreciated.

Choice of a Witch Hex is probably too much for first boon. Granting Evil Eye specifically (no qualifying for Extra Hex), maybe? That's the most in-character one, I think.

For the second boon, maybe Mage's Magnificent Mansion, but as an extra-large interior to a walking hut?
