No Spoiler Scenario Recommendations

Pathfinder Society

I'm pretty new to PFS and have only played the Confirmation scenario. I have an opportunity in a few weeks to play either Murder on the Silken Caravan or The Wounded Wisp. Without spoiling anything, could you folks offer me some criteria for choosing one over the other?

The Wounded Wisp is an excellent introduction into the Society and is a great scenario for beginners. Murder is a decent scenario that hasn't aged terribly well (true for most of seasons 0 and 1) and is fine but nothing mind-blowing. Play the Wisp for an overall better experience and play Murder later on when you've got some system mastery and you're more used to how everything works.

Liberty's Edge 5/5

Don't play Murder on the Silken Caravan at the lowest subtier. It's too deadly. (Most of the season 0 scenarios tend to be too easy. This is an exception.)

Wounded Wisp can be a lot of fun. That's the one I'd recommend playing after Confirmation.

4/5 *

I usually recommend playing three repeatable scenarios (Confirmation, Wounded Wisp, Consortium Compact, First Steps, etc) before picking up other adventures just because those are designed for starting characters and often have affordable and useful gear on the chronicle sheet you can buy for your next scenarios. In general partially charged wands and potions or scrolls above minimum caster level can help keep you alive to reach level 2.

I will fourth the recommendation for The Wounded Wisp. It's one of my favorite scenarios, a great introduction to Absalom, and a terrific follow-on to The Confirmation.

Dark Archive 4/5

I agree with what the others have already said. I will add that another reason to go for The Wounded Wisp over Murder on the Silken Caravan, is that Wisp can only be played at levels 1-2, while Silken Caravan can be played at levels 1-5.
