Darkwood armor check penalty?

Says Darkwood is 2 less than the armor check of the Ordinary item. Darkwood also requires masterworking, which would normally grant a 1 less armor check penalty.

Is the intention here that the masterworking is included in the Darkwood's armor check reduction, or they two seperate things? Basically, wanting to know if a Masterwork Darkwood tower shield has a -8 armor check penalty, or just a -7 penalty....

The default format (see Elven chain mail, mithril, and chain mail for an example) is that the -1 for MW is part of the overall modifier for the material, so a Darkwood Tower Shield will have -8 ACP.
