Traits to increase channel DC

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

"Sacred Conduit (Faith)
Your birth was particularly painful and difficult for your mother, who needed potent divine magic to ensure that you survived (your mother may or may not have survived). In any event, that magic infused you from an early age, and you now channel divine energy with greater ease than most.

Benefit: Whenever you channel energy, you gain a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of your channeled energy."

and

"Flames of Hell (Religion, Requirement(s) any archdevil)

Your bond with the archdevil you worship strengthens your ability to channel powers of the divine. Add 1 to the DC of saving throws made to resist the effects of your channel energy ability."

So RAW these stack, correct? The first is a trait bonus and the second is an untyped bonus.

PS: Please try to restrain yourself to RAW answers.

I'm fairly certain that traits always (unless they specify othewise, like keeper of the veil) give trait bonuses even if they don't explicitly say as much, meaning they don't stack.

I can't find a ruling on this, though, so... ask your GM.

EDIT: the PRD specifies that traits are meant to be spent on different things, and I feel that's a clear declaration of RAI, so they probably shouldn't stack.

I use both of these traits to increase my Necromancer's Channel DCs.

One provides a Trait Bonus, and one provides an Untyped Bonus.

This is the most current FAQ request on the matter.

The issue of Trait Bonuses and Traits with different or untyped Bonuses is understandably contentious. It's best to just ask your GM how they would rule it.

There is no such thing as "RAW". The text can be interpreted at least two ways.

1) using the text of the Traits themselves, or
2) using the text of the Traits section:

Quote:
Many traits grant a new type of bonus: a "trait" bonus. Trait bonuses do not stack—they're intended to give player characters a slight edge, not a secret backdoor way to focus all of a character's traits on one type of bonus and thus gain an unseemly advantage.

There's still a Faq request pending on whether or not traits that give no type of bonus actually give trait bonuses or not.

Until such a FAQ releases, you can assume that, as written, what you're getting works as strictly written. Though, if this isn't for PFS, your GM may disagree and ask you to change it.
