Ranged attacks

Ok here is a question for you guys.

Is there any penalty to make a bow attack on someone who is 5 feet away and if so, is there a feat to decrease or bypass that penalty.

The opponent gets to make an AOO on the archer. Point Blank Master is a feat that permits the archer to make the shot at 5' away without attracting an AOO.
