So I have a character that now has access to Trusty Buddy the adamantine crowbar and I was thinking of carrying around either a wand of Refine Improvised Weapon or get scrolls as needed. Which do you all think is the better option, pay for a wand up front or maintain a supply of a few scrolls for each module?

Not to mention the "Inappropriate weapons" rule on damaging objects. A crowbar is great for prying open doors, but even an adamantine crowbar will end up doing automatically 0 damage per attack on a door if the GM wants to rule that way... rendering its ability to ignore hardness as being situationally table-dependent as well.

You might want to be aware that there is a lot of table variation on just what types of DR that particular item actually goes through.
basically, its an adamantium crowbar. It goes through DR adamantium, same as anything else made out of adamantium.
You could get a page of spell knowledge and learn it, that way you're not burning the wand every hour

I'd go with scrolls. You'll likely hit lvl 12 and retirement before you go thru 50 uses of any given utility spell (that isn't a healing spell).
I actually have burned thru my first wand of lucky number before I was level 6, and am more than half way thru the second one...
I do offer the spell to the other PCs - so it often burns thru 4-6 charges (sometimes more) a day.

If you're not gonna have to worry about the attack roll penalties of improvised weapons with the trait, why do you still need the spell?
Refine Improvised Weapon makes it count as Masterwork, correct? So it would get an extra +1 when active. I don't think an Improvised weapon being Adamantine would give that same bonus.

Probably not. I have seen arguments equating [masterwork tools] as [masterwork] tools for the +1 attack bonus but i think thats a pretty clear case of equivocation.

+1 enhancement to hit for an hour for 25 gp/scroll or 15 gp/wand charge or spending PP doesn't seem all that worthwhile? Refine Improvised Weapon is already an inquisitor spell so I second BigNorseWolf's suggestion of page of spell knowledge or simply learn the spell so the duration lasts for a whole session as the PC gets higher level.
Surprise Weapon trait (along with Rough and Ready) might still be easier for an additional +1 to hit.

As my character is an Inquisitor and could use my Bane ability on it if I really needed to be able to do more damage (which the +2 Enhancement bonus would override the +1 to hit from being MW from Refine Improvised Weapon) I will probably just pick up Rough and Ready as well as Surprise Weapon with Additional Traits to counter the improvised weapon penalty and an extra +2 to hit.
