You were the last one to have it so go ahead and keep it for now. We do want to return it if we can.

I am in Oregon/Washington. Live in Vancouver and work in Oregon City.

Off to work again now. I will be back this evening.

I'm from southern BC and have spent some time in Vancouver but I am currently living in Ottawa. Quite a distance away.

Vernonia is going to grab a crossbow and the mw bolts. If nobody grabs the other mw dagger she grab it too. I am still at work and hate posting from my phone. I will be home in a few hours a post in the gameplay thread then.

OK I will have a post ready for you guys as soon as you depart officially.

BTW, how am I doing so far?

Yeah, I'm into it.

I was invited to two RoW campaigns at the same time and I choice this one since it was offered first. I have been following the other one a little and I see that I made the right choice. Your doing a great job.

You're doing well! I'm enjoying myself and I look forward to continuing.

Ysabella took 9 dmg from zombies. Did we heal her? I would hate to continue...

I'm going to push the story along with a post here soon. Just let me know about the heal before I turn the tracker to round 2. We will acknowledge that this heal occurred before current events. If there is/was or won't be a heal then, um... sorry and good luck.

I have no way of healing, so that'd have to be up to others.

I'm a little late to the party of answers to the question, but I'd agree that this is quite fun and you've been doing a good job so far!

Male Elf Arcanist 1 | HP7 | AC 15/11/14 (mage armour) | F+1 R+1 W+4(+6) | Init+1 | Perc+4; low-light vision

Well, that was brief; gutted (literally and metaphorically).

Ugh yeah more s!%% like that is guaranteed to occur in RoW and I'm just running the vanilla. You could tell Neil Spicer he's mean....

I do recommend more CON next time.

So basically when you die, you must come back as new character. It can be the same exact build if you want, it just has to be a new person. Let me know your plans and truly sorry about encounter. My first time running it I murdered a Merfolk. Yes someone tried to play a Merfolk in RoW.

Snow's just water, right? Merfolk should be right at home! :P

The obvious solution is to build the tankiest character you can think of this time around!

Or, you can just take a page from Gamers Dorkness rising and have like, 50 copies of the character each with a slightly different name and cloak color.

Female Peri-blooded Aasimar Cleric [HP 9/9] [AC:13 T:10 FF:13 CMD:10] [Init +0] [Fort +3 Ref +0 Will +5] [Perception +3]

The old Hide Behind the Pile of Dead Bards ploy. Got to love it.

If we had healed Voronwe like we should have would the attack have still dropped him below his con score?

He wasn't damaged, that was Ysabella.

Sovereign Court

I'm thinking maybe a Druid, full caster for the party but a bit tougher.

Or do we need that arcane caster?

Status HP: 10/10; AC: 17 (T:14, FF:14); CMB -1; CMD 12; Init +3; Perception +7; Fort +2, Ref +5 ; Will +3 Extracts: Endure Elements 1/1; Enlarge Tail 1/1; Inspiration 3/3, 1d6;

I only have extracts and they're personal use only. I am totally copying any spells I can out of his spellbook though. :)

Druid would be neat. But it's up to you. I am fond of players playing what they want, not what you think we need.

I'd also say play what you want. I could understand completely if you wanted to follow up with something entirely different. Are you looking for full-casters specifically? Because as a 6-level caster with lots of party buffs a bard (or skald with their sbility to appropriate wizard spells?) might be just the thing to stay an arcane caster while still having a more survivable d8 HD, and if the AP is going to be a doozy of difficulty things like inspire courage might be really handy. Though I'd like to reiterate and agree that it's best to play something you're enthused about, otherwise it'll probably just turn into a grind.

I just want to clarify to everyone that my initial post for the encounter was 100% accurate and the creature does indeed have pounce. Therefor, Voronwe would have died on the surprise round when the creature pounced, grabbed and raked him. However, I forgot to add the +2 bonus for the charge and AC penalty. I will be more clear when I'm saying it's ambushing you I will make sure I say it's Pouncing you if that is the situation.

On the creatures turn in round 1, with Voronwe dead. It would start to burrow and drag him under the snow. This would not change the rest of the encounter but I just wanted everyone to be updated.

I do really appreciate you keep rules out of the main thread. If you feel I did a rule wrong, message here or PM me.

Sovereign Court

Yeah, sorry about that. Desperately clutching at straws!

Sovereign Court

I started building a sylph sky druid but can't seem to make it non-squishy: back to the drawing board.

A Goliath Druid or a Saurian Shaman would be a lot of fun. Being those big creatures is a treat.

Sovereign Court

nothing to see here, just rolling some dice: 1d100 ⇒ 6

Okay, I am torn between Yolubilis Heron or Lion for animal companion (small character who can ride on back of companion). What do people think?

Meet Bedwyr, small, gnome-born aasimar druid with a celestial lion friend.

He's a wanderlust-stricken adventurous aasimar/gnome who grew up around the Varsian community in Magnimar. He's travelling the world because he doesn't fit in anywhere so everywhere and anywhere is as good as anywhere else, but new and interesting.

Now it's up to DS to insert him into the adventure!

I like him!

Plain and simple, you're going to walk up behind them. You can choose your own reasons why you're following the trail just as they did. Perhaps you pass by a newly made grave.

Also can you send me the HeroLab file.

I also want to remind you of my in house ruling of Pounce (Ex) is OP and I have many issues with Paizo’s wording. A cat will only make rake attacks if it grabs, and if it grabs you can not make claw attacks. If you fail to grab you can continue with your claw attacks. In other words, no your cat is not going to get 5 attacks on a charge/pounce. We can discuss but I will not be changing this ruling.

male Plumekith Druid (mooncaller) 1 | HP 10 | AC 17 | F+3 R+3 W+6 | Perception +8 | Initiative +2

Fair enough: full attack on charge is still badass.

I need to sort out gear properly, then I'll join the gang.

HP 11 | AC 14 | Perception +6 | Initiative +3

Meet Tawny: no lion avatars available!

Before I act, can you point out where you're getting the rule that using perception in combat is a standard action? The CRB section on perception suggests that actively searching for a stimulus is a move action. I'd just like to be clear before I post anything, no offense intended.

All GM's I have ever worked with call it a standard action in battle to actively see. We will rule it as move action because of the wording down there. However, there is an encounter or two that specifically tells me it's standard action.

I'm going to be honest here, I have NO idea what I could do here, and I've been gaming for over a decade.

Guess you gotta figure out eh?

They don't need defeating. The goal is a rescue.

If they're defending this spot, retreat and go around, pick up the trail ahead.

And if they follow the retreat? Then they're drawn out of any cover.

Very good point.

Huh. I admittedly don't get a chance to play with a lot of other GMs, but until I saw that (and changed it in my own games) I'd always gone with it being a free action to look, and have never encountered it as a standard action. Learn something new everyday!

When it comes to the cases where specific encounter text trumps general rules text, I understand completely.

Are they out in the open enough for Lars to spot them now? And, if so, about how far away from him is the closest one?

Is now a good time to make a dramatic entry?

You can enter anytime you want. If we are mid combat just roll initiative and I'll put you in.

Lars, yes you can see them all and the 2 out in open that cast you're close enough to approach. The other is still trying to hide within the trees and has a decent amount of cover due to his diminutive size.
