Currently there are two types of black powder based grenades:
Fuse (standard black powder only grenades)
Pellet (black powder + metal pellets)
Any other ideas that could conceivably work to make alchemical/black powder grenades more interesting?
There are also Fuse Grenades, Pull-cord Grenades, Slime Grenades(!) and more Alchemical Splash Weapons than you can shake a stick at.
You can make them all more "interesting" with a Launching Crossbow or Flask Thrower to get more range.

I'd like some ideas of doing something like infusing a special effect into something that goes boom (like a pellet grenade adding piercing damage to the bludgeoning/fire damage of a regular grenade).
I like slime grenades covering things in green slime, but I think that adding that to an explosive might cause the green slime to be obliterated due to the fire damage component.
If alchemical ice pellets could be added to a pellet grenade, to do cold damage instead of piercing or however that would work.
That's the kind of idea I'm looking for.
Add a smoke stick for cover, alchemist fire for enhanced incindiaries, fireforged steel pellets might enhance damage.
Fireforged steel pellets are a good idea. Won't work in a single grenade, would need like 3 or so of them (on average) in a cluster to provide the 10 points of fire damage to apply, though.

Any ideas on sonic effects?
Not really a sonic effect, but tie a thunderstone to the side. For athe full sense removal package add a smokestick.
Much more for jerk npcs: wrap something infectious, maybe ghoul flesh, around it, the rules for this would be complete GM call, but it sounds icky.
