Fey Thoughts: PFS legal?

Pathfinder Society

Trying to build a character, not sure if this trait is allowed in Organized Play. Any help is appreciated.

This would be dictated by the Allowed Resources document.

Two things:

1. It isn't a "trait". It's a "racial trait". Just for future reference. Definitely tripped me up looking for it.

2. A quick glance on Archives of Nethys says that Fey Thoughts is not PFS legal.

I'm pretty new to pathfinder, having been a 3.5 junkie. Where do I find the list of what's allowed or not?

On the left-hand side of the site, click on Pathfinder Society and then you should see a link for Additional Resources, not Allowed Resources, sorry.

Additional Resources.

Since it's somewhat difficult to search the Additional Resources for a specific option, you can always try Archives of Nethys. It's a third party site, so it's not 100% accurate or up to date, but it's maintained by a PFS player and has become the replacement for d20pfsrd since they fell out of compliance with Paizo's copyright rules.

Look for the "Glyph of the Open Road" to signify PFS legal material, or check the box on the search engine for "Pathfinder Society Legal Material".

Thank you!

Additional Resources is organised by book, so look for the book and page number of the given mechanic. (since you MUST own the book to use a mechanic in PFS play) and the go to the appropriate section in the ADR.

True, but some people prefer to build the character first and then see what resources they'll need. Is it worth it to iSqueam to buy a sourcebook just to use Fey Thoughts? Maybe, who knows. But it'd be unfortunate if he/she bought the book first only to discover that it isn't legal.

The sourcebook a given feature can be found in is usually listed on the site.

Archives of Nethys isn't always reliable. (As I recently noticed: Spell Lattices aren't marked PFS legal for some reason.)

Additional resources is the canonical source:

Traits: all traits on pages 3–7 are legal for play, except fey thoughts.

I'm of the build first, buy relevant books second mindset. I could spend a grand on hardcovers and splats, AMD still not have the one thing on that one page that makes or breaks a build.
