What Alignment are You and Why?

Pretty straightforward, probably a couple threads did it already.

I consider myself LG because I believe in helping others, but I also really love consistency and organization. I believe an entity outside of individuals is a fair way to dictate our lives. (Like government)

While I believe action to be necessary, it is also good to do so lawfully, with the future in mind.

My dedication oddly enough manifests in Pathfinder. If I were religious I would definitely be studying and memorizing the holy texts, but since I'm not, paizo books will suffice. ;)

Of course on a bad day I might feel LE

Ted, I checked the HR dress code and you are in a direct violation. PREPARE TO BE SMOTE!!!

I think of myself as True Neutral or Lawful Neutral. I believe that I am on either the more chaotic side of Lawful Neutral, or the more Lawful side of True Neutral, because most of the time I prefer lawful methods and goals, but there are plenty of times where I do things that could be considered chaotic. I'm neither good nor evil, because sometimes I am nice and helpful, but other times I'm kind of a lazy dick. I feel like I'm probably true neutral, because I mix very minor aspects of each alignment component, with a little bit of apathy and sarcasm mixed in.

Chaotic Good, maybe Neutral Good. I know, it's the one every gamer liked picking, but I'm willing to toe the line and follow the "law" as long as I can still help others. The minute the rules prevent me from doing that, they'll get flexed, bent, or outright broken, if needed. I do recognize my flaw in thinking I'm the ultimate arbiter of when "law" is useful and not. (Teacher by trade, FYI.) A buddy of mine once looked at me and said, "Austan, you ARE the definition of Chaotic Good. Open the Player's Handbook, and there's a picture of you."

Oddly, my screen name is a LG character...

Chaotic Snarky?

Can one manage chaotic and lawful good at the same time? I would almost need to. Because neutral doesn't quite describe it.

I'm a palladium gamer... We'd call me 'unprincipled'... the rest of my most recent table are all 'anarchists' at best.

But for the old LNC/GNE engine? Somewhere on the NG/CG spectrum.

I'm at my best when I get to break the rules and do the right thing.
If playing by the rules IS doing the right thing I'm alright....
But I find myself feeling more gratified if doing the right thing means breaking a rule.

So thats kind of an odd thing.

I like to find rules that suck and break them for good reasons to prove that those rules are bad?

Something along those lines.

Clearly not above breaking a rule for a good reason...
And clearly prefer doing the right thing and being helpful over some arbitrary rule.
I'm definitely more interested in being helpful than in personal gain, even to my detriment.

Liberty's Edge

1) How do I act towards innocent people ?

I have some tendency to act and protect them (Good), though most often I merely wish I could do something (Neutral).

And I hate with a passion those who hurt innocent people (definitely Not Evil).

2) How do I react to a legitimate authority telling me what I should do ?

This one varies vastly depending on who tells me, how they tell it and and what i am supposed to do, going from immediate obedience to knee-jerk rebellion, so I guess I average at Neutral on the Lawful-Chaotic axis.

So, True Neutral bordering on Neutral Good I guess
