Question about the feat "Racial Heritage"

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

I'm a PFS player, and my friend has a dissidence with me.

The description of the feat "Racial Heritage":
Prerequisite: Human
Benefit: Choose another humanoid race. You count as both human and that race for any effects related to race. For example, if you choose dwarf, you are considered both a human and a dwarf for the purpose of taking traits, feats, how spells and magic items affect you, and so on.

According to the Additional Resources about the book 《Inner Sea Races》,“The racial heritages section from page 236–254 is a legal resource when qualifying to play a character of a different race, much as if the player owned a copy of the corresponding Bestiary or Advanced Race Guide”.

I'm not very good at English,so I'm confused about weather can I use Racial Heritage to choose, for example, the Vishkanyas,so that I can use the Deadly Courtesan Archetype. What does the word " when qualifying to play a character of a different race" exactly mean,is it a condition,or just a purpose?

The line you're quoting basically means "the pages mentioned count as the books or pages you need to bring to utilize content for these races". In other words, you can bring this book as proof you can play one of the listed races (assuming the race is otherwise legal), instead of needing the Bestiary or Advanced Race Guide book the race in question was introduced in.

I would suggest asking this on the PFS forums. I have no idea how their qualifying to play a race stuff works in the slightest. someone here prolly does but your more likely to find people who know on the PFS forums.

if I had to guess though I don't think you need to unlock the race for racial heritage as it does not allow you to play that race, you simple count as it for feats, achetypes etc. and the fact that racial heritage lets you choose any humanoid race even unplayable ones.
