So, Ultimate Campaign says, "To gain an archetype that replaces standard class abilities you already have, you must spend 5 days for every alternate class feature you would add, subtract, or replace by taking that archetype." With the OP guide changing each day to 1 Prestige instead.

Would I be interpreting this correctly to say that a 4th level character wanting to add an archetype that didn't change any class features before 5th level could do so freely?

Yes.

EDIT: Yes

I learned how to read.

You should have read it better. He said if it does not change any class features before 5. level. Then the answer is yes.

Silver Crusade 3/5

There are Archetypes that don't replace/modify any abilities that you gain on low levels. Going with another bard example, Sound Striker only deals with Inspire Competence and Suggestion, so you could start taking it only starting with 3rd level if you felt like it.

I think the original poster was going for these types of archetypes.

Leathert has it correct, thanks all.

Yes, but you're still restricted to archeypes and combinations which would make a legal package. If you already posess one archetype, you can't use this rules feature to take on a second archetype with an overlap conflict.
