Shield Slam + Lunge

Rules Questions

One of my players asked if the combination of the Shield Slam and Lunge feats allow him to make bull rushes with 10 ft. reach.

I'm inclined to allow this, since Shield Slam does say you get a free bull rush, but as far as I can tell it wouldn't be allowed by RAW, since Lunge only extends the reach on your melee attacks, so you technically wouldn't have the reach to make that free bull rush maneuver.

Are there any official clarifications on this, or has anyone encountered a similar situation?

A bull rush (or any CMB for that matter)requires an attack roll and if made in melee would be a melee attack. I'm not seeing a problem with Lunge+Shield bash RAW

Edit: so as not to discuss it again here. Is a CMB a melee attack?

Thanks. That thread seems inconclusive, but I'll roll with it, since shield slam specifically uses the result of the initial melee attack anyway.
