Looking at the "reach" evolution it doesn't specifically state that you need to use it for a natural attack. I am building an Azata eidolon using a greatsword and want to apply to my greatsword attack.
I'm using HeroLab but it doesn't show properly so I am now thinking I am missing something. So please help, am I reading this evolution properly?

The Azata Eidolon starts with Martial weapon as a 4 point evolution. They are proficient with all martial weapons. This is where my confusion lies. Evolutions state "natural attack" but this one does not specifically state that reach only applies to natural attacks. So since this eidolon can use martial weapons, I am led to believe that it should apply to a martial weapon.

Note that even then, it won't give you reach with a great sword, as reach would only apply to one hand, and greatsword takes two hands
To be fair, the Slam attack requires both hands based on the evolution prerequisites and you can evolve Reach on that.
As for greatswords, my gut tells me no. I vaguely remember a dev or a FAQ calling it that way, but I can't recall any specifics. Considering this is for PFS you can expect a lot of GMs to challenge you at the table. I suggest using the evo point elsewhere and simply use Enlarge Person to get the desired reach. That should hold you until the Large evolution becomes available.

Actually there is a FAQ that clarifies that even if you apply reach to a slam or claw it only grants reach to one slam or claw, not to both slams granted by the evolution

That's the thing though. The slam evolution is one single attack from the evolution, and it requires the arms evolution tot ake. And only allowed once per pair of arms. Therefore, one Slam uses two arms.
